Quick update...

It's been a while, so here's a quick check in...

The Band of Heathens spent a week at sea on the Cayamo cruise alongside some of our favorite artists; Richard Thompson, John Prine, JD McPherson, Buddy Miller, Margo Price, Aaron Lee Tasjan, and the list goes on! We were fortunate to be very busy during this cruise, as we had 3 Heathens show, 2 shows backing up Hayes Carll, and 1 show as the band for a Tom Petty Tribute show. The Tom Petty show had us backing just about everyone on the cruise. Here is a link to a YouTube playlist of videos from that show - Tom Petty Cayamo Tribute Playlist

We started this year off on another cruise favorite of ours, the Delbert McClinton Sandy Beaches Cruise. I've got a lot of love for that one and its full of friends and family and artists who inspire us.

This year is starting off with some fun session work...I spent a week in the studio working on Jamie Lin Wilson's new record with Trevor Nealon, Charlie Sexton, and Scott Davis pulling double duty as bassist and producer, with Steve Christensen at the engineering helm. The Heathens are working a few sessions, backing other artists, as well.

Hope all is well, with everybody!

2017 has been off to a great start! The Band of Heathens released Duende on January 13 and the record spent 2 weeks at #1 on the Americana Radio Chart! We kicked off the year with Delbert McClinton's Sandy Beaches Cruise, alongside Delbert and countless wonderful bands. After a week on the seas, we made our way up the east coast, opening a gig for Los Lobos and then being joined on a run by a great band out of NY, The National Reserve. A day off in New York had us making the rounds for press at Sirius XM, Paste Magazine, and Relix Magazine. After a cold January in the north east, we spent an even colder February in the mid west, hitting favorites like The Ark in Ann Arbor, MI and new spots like Daytrotter in Davenport, IA. We had a strong finish in Texas at the end of that run and now its sit and wait until SXSW in Austin. Some things to look forward to this year are a run in April with fellow Texan Hayes Carll, where we will be opening the show with a Heathens set and then backing Hayes, and a jaunt across the Atlantic, for a May Europe run.

Check out the new Heathens record, here, where Rolling Stone offers an exclusive stream of Duende in it's entirety!
